Lesedi Cultural village, is just across the Lanseria Road, offers an authentic African experience for any traveller. You can try out a traditional meal of oxtail, lamb stew or roast chicken with samp and beans, putu pap and rice while enjoying the traditional tribal dancing and festivities.

A few kilometres down the Lanseria road (R512), is Hartbeespoort village with the its snake park, and game sanctuaries, on either side of the Dam wall.

The majestic Pilanesberg Game Reserve and the Sun City complex with the Palace of the Lost City, the Valley of the Waves and, for the golfers, the acclaimed Gary Player Country Club is also only about an hours drive away making Palamino ridge the perfect stop over allowing day trips to these wonderful facilities.

If you are into wildlife, then try our famous De Wildt Cheetah Research Centre, which lies near Brits, approximately an hours drive. The Institute breeds endangered species for reintroduction to the wild and it specialises in breeding the King Cheetah. You can also see Wild Dogs and Vultures at the centre. Public tours are conducted, and special conditions apply to young children.

The Cradle of Humankind, world heritage site, is about 15 minutes  drive down the road from Palamino. This is the home of the little hominid, Mrs Ples, discovered by Professor Raymond Dart. The centre boasts world class museum and information centre. 

The Magaliesberg mountain range is also within easy driving distance. These mountain are some of the oldest in the world, and the area is one of the most beautiful, and right at your doorstep. The village of Magaliesburg is well worth a visit, with picturesque tea gardens, walks and shopping opportunities. 

The Rhenosterspruit Nature Conservancy is a conservancy, which protects iron age sites, sites of historical and cultural significance, fossils, bat caves, and rare grasslands. Two private game reserves, The Oori and Loosen's are within the Conservancy borders.

For the golfer keen golfer, there is the Gary Player Courtly Club, at Sun City, and the Pecanwood Gof course on the shores of the Hartebeespoort Dam, and the newly developed Blair Atholl Estate borders of Palamino Ridge, near the entrance to the Cradle of Humankind.

For the adventure seeker, Paddle Power arranges canoe trips on the Crocodile River, while Harrops Balloon Safaris can take you on the most exhilarating balloon safari.
